Tropical Surf Experience

Our Sri Lanka Surf Experience is located on golden sands of Hikkaduwa just 5 minutes walk from the best surfing of the area. The Accommodation we use a an older traditional sri lankan property and is a 3 Star rating and perfect and ideal for days spent lazing by the ocean, exploring the surf and the sea, diving shipwrecks or snorkelling the reef.

Most of our surfers choose to spend their days around the beach, and the resort has been designed with this desire in mind. Every room has a sea view, and early risers can enjoy the brilliant early morning swell and blue from their balcony. Enjoy breakfast in the oceanside restaurant, choosing from international fare or Sri Lankan style for a taste of local culture. A morning walk south along the beach will take you to the surfing, so you catch your dawn patrol by lush greenery and coconut palms.

In the afternoon, go for a snorkel at the coral reef, or take a trip to the Dutch colonial fort in nearby Galle. Luxuriate in the evening with a lobster dinner, freshly caught and served according to your desires.

You will find fresh seafood with exquisite flavours and local touches in the restaurant covered open-air restaurant located along the beach. Serving Sri Lankan style grilled lobster, tiger prawns, a variety of fish, local curries and international cuisine.

Located in a quiet corner of the hotel between the main building and the seaside restaurant is a lovely bar. You can enjoy seating at the bar or at tables beneath the palm trees. Serving a selection of cocktails, beers, wines, shooters and mixed drinks made with the strong local coconut liquor arrack is sure to unwind you after a great days surf.

An outdoor pool, situated to enjoy views of the sea, like every location at the accommodation. Take a dip. Soak in the sun on a lounger. Delve into a book (or your laptop) beneath the shade of a palm. Wi-fi access lets you surf the net while still savouring the views and checking on the swell forecast for the coming days.

Exclusive with Pure Vacations the accommodation will arrange snorkelling excursions, bringing surfers directly to the natural attraction that lends the resort its name. The resort also helps guests to book diving trips that capture the highlights of the southern coast. PADI certification courses available. This is not to be missed and is paid locally.

On the transfer to your accommodation you will be given an orientation in general about the country with special emphasis on the do's and don'ts etc. At Hikkaduwa on the first day one of our surfing representatives will show you around the area up to Mirissa region familiarising you with all the Surfing points and we will provide you with a map with all indications of surf spots.
