11 Day Surfing Open Charter - Southern Atolls Experience

Welcome to this amazing surfing experience to the the last remaining uncrowded surf of the Maldives. This is a truly incredible surfing experience and is exclusive to Pure Vacations.

After arriving on Male we will fly you down to the Laamu Atoll. We recommend you arrive the day before and overnight in Male (the main island). Probably you will have had a relaxing night on Male and will arrive after a 45 minute scenic flight.

With our beautiful Surf Charter we will pick you up from the local airport in the southern atolls with a refreshing welcome fruit cocktail in our hands. We will lift the anchor and head off to one of the nearby spots. It may only take 30 minutes and you will enjoy world class tropical surf. Our mission is to maximize surf time and it is your choice how long you will surf the first or any of the other days! The schedule of next days really depends on you and the weather conditions. Most likely you will surf some of the 7 different spots in the Laamu Atoll first.

If you want to we will head off either to the Meemu Atoll or Thaa Atoll afterwards. Meemu offers 5 main breaks some of them world class. The Thaa Atoll is rarely surfed due to its secluded location. But the Charter we will make the way with ease and if the conditions are right you don't want to leave again.

Certainly your are welcome througout our trip to dive with our dive master or to use the jetski for wakeboarding or tow in. After a few days in Meemu or Thaa we will return to the Laamu Atoll where you can finish your last day with another unforgetable surf session.

The surfing experience is on the Surf Charter and provides the elegance of Italian design, the reliability, high performance and low maintenance of high quality German engines and the unequaled qualities of wood as a building material. The comfort is to private yacht standards, while the underlying engineering is to heavy workboats’ specifications. Navigational systems include 2 GPS, radar, autopilot, and two echo sounders. For a quiet ride, the engine room and generators are fully sound insulated. The hull and machinery have been granted the "Maltese Cross 100 A5 motor yacht" rating by the Germanischer Lloyd surveying authority, attesting that Charter is built to the most stringent of German safety standards and that all machinery has been thoroughly tested to match specifications. The Charter is protective of the environment. She is a boat equipped with a US coast guard certified sewage treatment plant permitting us to reject treated sewage water in protected harbours.

Total comfort is catered to by eight cabins, sleeping two in each, with their own bathrooms; unlimited hot and cold water. They are exceptionally large measuring 3.75 x 2.75m on average with side by side berths rather than bunk beds. The air conditioning is controlled individually and ample storage is provided by cupboards and drawers.

The dining room seats 18 people and the fully equipped galley offers five star cuisine and service. Adjacent to the dining room, the bar offers a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, cold drinks and non stop snacks.

Good surf may be dependent on the swell, but we guarantee you delicious, healthy food day in and day out on the Charter. Most meals are prepared by our experienced chef in a local style. The Maldivian cuisine is very tasty and often based on rice with fish and seasoned with curry sauces or hot spices. Every night the crew catches fresh fish just for you. Tuna together with barracuda, trevallies and groupers are common meals. But also vegetable rissoles, spicy rice, curried chicken or fish as well as slices of bread, or fruits fried in the coconut palm oil are served. Very strong tea is drunken with these dishes and many meals are assorted by cakes typical of the Maldivian cuisine.

For vegetarians we will make special arrangements. Please let us know in advance of your trip.

The saloon hosts a large area for games and entertainment where you will find a choice of board games, TV, videos, projector and sound system. You will also be able to send and receive emails (text only) via GMTS in most areas we are operating. The Charter will also offer a computer with video editing software to produce your own surf movies.
