Pure white-sand beaches and palm trees responding to the winds greet surfers of Florida every day, top that off with emerald and turquoise warm waters from April to September and you have one of the most exciting small to moderate surfing destinations in the world.

Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach and Sebastian Inlet form the main surfing area of Central Florida. Sebastian's Inlet, part of the Sebastian Inlet State Recreational Area, is the most renowned area for Florida surfing. Since the 1960's, many professional surfers have ridden the waves of the inlet. Sebastian Inlet is composed of three breaks in the north, aptly named First, Second, and Third Peak. First Peak enjoys remarkably consistent surf breaks. To the south side of the inlet, Monster Hole provides big powerful surf and long rides.

Cocoa Beach and Daytona beach offer a full range of experiences such as the famous pier waves that offer tubes and fun rides or the shifting beach breaks that stretch the whole length of the coastline. Cocoa Beach is of course the natural home of multi world champion and the best surfer of all time Kelly Slater. Cocoa Beach is the location of many Florida/East Coast surfing professionals and the infamous main location of Ron Jon Surf Shop, as well as great surfing with less crowding from many street access points. In the South Patrick area (5 mins from Cocoa Beach) you will find s a number of surf areas amidst the Patrick Air Force Base, with some appropriately named break areas such as First and Second Light, Missiles, and Hangars. The breaks at Satellite Beach slightly follow a business-naming scheme; Perkins is known for surf consistency, while swells flourish at R.C.'s in front of a Ramada Inn.

If you are a Longboarder then you need to surf Florida's best longboarding area of Melbourne Beach just south of Cocoa where you will also find the biggest and best longboard house in the world featuring hundreds of boards and just geared towards longboarding. The residential area of Melbourne Beach can cater to the local scene and amateur surfing competitions.
