It is the deep south of Brazil that offers the best surf in the country, with bigger swell and much more wave variation than it's northen brother. Surfing here is as close as you can get to paradise - and our Florianopolis Surf Camp resort in the south is even situated on the aptly named Paradise Beach.
The island destination of Santa Catarina (also referred to as Florianopolis) is where the cream of this southern swell peaks, with a concentration of 20 world famous breaks covering a 225 degree swell window
Swell here is reasonably powerful and frequent, especially from April to October thanks to the low pressures rushing above Antarctica.
With clear blue sea with waves from 2 to 7 ft. in the summer (December to May), and 4 to 12 ft. in winter (half May to half October) with warm waters to boot, in fact in the summer the water temperature averages about 27ºC however a wetsuit maybe needed in the winter as the average is around 20ºC.
From the enchantment of the south beaches and the magic tubular waves,
like Joaquina and Mole (host of some WCT events), to the dream of the long
and ample waves of Santinho (host for several WQS events), here you will
find the ideal conditions to make your ideal surf vacation a very memorable one indeed
