If you're a skier or snowboarder - or are thinking of learning - Vermont is the place to be. More than 20 alpine ski resorts and almost 50 cross-country touring centres dot the state. With 4,500 skiable acres, 900 trails and 150 lifts, Vermont skiing accommodates every level from the advanced downhiller to the training toddler, from moguls and snow-boarding to quiet cross country jaunts on ski or snowshoe.

Vermont conjures up images of snow capped trees and small New England style villages and towns and for the most part this is correct. It is a romantic playground and one that is easily accessible due to its superb position and access to a major gateway. It is a state that in our opinion should be one of the top of your list for boarding and skiing every year!

If there is one word that describes Vermont and its inhabitants, it is "independent". Vermonters have retained that independence by fighting off claims to their territory by neighbouring states. Vermont can be divided into six geographical land regions; the Northeast Highlands, the Western New England Upland, the Green Mountains, the Vermont Valley, the Taconic Mountains, and the Champlain Valley.

Vermont is known for its maple syrup, its maple sugar, and its excellent skiing and snowboarding, and you wont lack a challenge either most of the double black diamond runs are seriously steep, you certainly wont lack space either as most locals only visit the slopes at weekends leaving the rest of the week to enjoy the snow in your own time.

We have selected our resort that we feel you will find enjoyable and yet will expose you to the real life of Vermont and the real experience that makes snow lovers return year after year. Vermont is a traditional, stylish, and romantic world class ski and boarding destination for all the family but do not expect to have a loud time in the evenings, the resorts are quaint and lovely and are for the skier or boarder looking to experience New England power and powder!
