Winter in Liberty Dog Sledding, Snow Shoeing, Tube Sliding and Snowmobiling Tour

Here is a new snowmobile oriented formula which allows you to also try the main winter activities such as dog sledding, snowshoeing, tube sliding, etc. After an introduction to dog sledding, you will indeed take advantage of three full days to discover the wild territories of the Mauricie region on a snowmobile! Moreover, after one day spent with your snowmobile guide, you will have the opportunity to continue on in total liberty! To crown it all, you'll have access to a wide selection of free or optional activities on the premises.

Day 1 - Montreal / Mauricie
Arrival and shuttle from the airport to the Rivière Mattawin area. Night at the Auberge de la Rivière Mattawin.

Day 2 - Mauricie
Get ready for some action! For those wishing to experience the raw energy of nature, nothing compares to a dog sledding adventure in the wild territories of the Saint-Maurice Valley. During this ½ day experience, you will be carried by the powerful hounds while catching a glimpse of the ever changing sceneries as you glide across a winter wonderland. Your musher (guide) will teach you the art of harnessing the huskies and you will have the opportunity to ride your own sled. At midday, you will also enjoy a tasteful meal cooked over a campfire.

Day 3 - Mauricie (140 km)
It's snowmobile time! After the crossing of the majestic Saint-Maurice River, your guide will lead you towards a cozy forest shelter where you will enjoy a hearty lunch on the shores of the mighty Mattawin River, completely isolated from the rest of the civilization. While eating around a bonfire, your guide will tell you some stories related to the lumberjacks and the raftmen who used to work in this section of the Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve. You will then have the opportunity to try some off-trail riding in order to return to the main trail network. After dinner, you will be invited for a fascinating evening of story telling around a camp fire.

Day 4 - Mauricie (135 km)
Another day of snowmobile discoveries in this snow paradise! Please note that from now on, you can choose between continuing with a guide or to discover the trails on your own. If you select the latest option, you'll be briefed before the departure and you'll receive all the relevant documents and maps to find your way in the wide open spaces. You'll first ride for approximately 30 km on the frozen Saint-Maurice River, on the edge of the famous Mauricie National Park. You will then stop in an authentic sugar shack for a traditional Canadian Lunch. In the afternoon, you'll travel through breathtaking sceneries while passing under tunnels of snowy pine trees. After dinner, you'll be invited to a lecture about Quebec's sceneries and activities.

Day 5 - Mauricie (130 km)
In the morning, get back on your snowmobile in order to reach the magnificent area of the Mékinac Lake, which means turtle in Native language. The Canadian cliché of the wild forests sparkled with isolated lakes becomes a reality here! We will then stop for lunch in a typical snowmobile relay station before continuing towards a spectacular belvedere offering a breathtaking view over the Laurentian Mountains. In the evening: Wild meat feast organized in a rustic shelter in the heart of the forest. You will then have access to an authentic Native sauna and you will have the opportunity to take part in a traditional purification session.

Day 6 - Mauricie / Montreal
After these four days of activities, some of you will surely want to take advantage of a free day to try the several activities available at the Adventure Center (cross country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, tube sliding, etc.). However, those who have never enough will also have the opportunity to choose one of the following optional activities: a day of dog sledding, a day of multi-activities. Back at the Adventure Center at the end of the day, you'll take advantage of a farewell dinner before the transfer to Montreal. Night at the Travelodge Hotel.
