The A la Carte menu offers a wide selection: soups, salads, starters, pasta, vegetables, fish, poultry, beef, veal & game and desserts.
Specialities of the restaurant: smoked trout (starter), steak of wapiti or caribou (upon availability)
Meal packages (lunch and/or dinner) always include bread & butter / starter / main course / dessert / tea or coffee.
Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 10:00. Besides Full American Breakfasts (eggs, bacon or sausage or ham, fried potatoes, beans, toasts, etc), the guests have the opportunity to sample pancakes and french toasts with maple syrup
(if you want to make the waitress winge, ask her for tomato sauce (ketchup) for your french toasts! ). Mineral waters, soft drinks, local & imported beers, liquors, wine card offers canadian, french & american wines.

Is Wi-Fi Internet access available in the room or property and are any costs involved?
No, there is no WI-Fi Internet access available. The lodge is a wilderness destination. To keep it authentic and to make sure guests get a vacation away from their busy lifestyle and enjoy the surrounding nature at its fullest, the chalets do not have phones and televisions . There are public phones in the main house and a large screen tv in the bar.

What type of bed linen will be used and how often is this changed?
The beds all have cotton bed linens and cosy wool blankets . If not otherwise requested, the bed linens will be changed every 3 days.

Does the resort have any facilities for disabled people?
The rooms and restaurant are accessible for a person in a wheel chair. Unfortunately no rooms/bathrooms have been designed especially for people with physical handicap (i.e. lower basin, security ramps, etc.)

What is the nearest lake like?
The ground belonging the hotel has many lakes of different sizes. The biggest one, Lake Blanc, has a private beach and is ideal for ice fishing. Other lakes around the hotel offer fabulous fishing opportunities.

What is the name of the resort Manager?
The lodge is run by the Pellerin Family. Gaston and his wife Andrée make sure every guest feel like they are part of the large Lac Blanc family. The friendly staff at the reception desk is available from 6:00 to 22:00 to answer any questions or request you may have.

What happens if I hurt myself whilst staying at the resort?
The guides are trained in first-aid. For more serious injuries or illnesses, there is am emergency service in St-Alexis-des-Monts, located approx. 15 km away from the lodge. In the unlikely event of a guest obtaining life-threatening injuries or illnesses, guests will be driven by ambulance or flown by helicopter to the nearest hospital in Louiseville.

There is a very cosy bar at the hotel. There are one or two pubs in the village of St-Alexis-des-Monts.

In the winter, it is mostly couples or single males staying here (for the ski-dooing).

How many rooms does the accommodation have and what are the facilities?
There are 12 chalets on the site. Each of them has four bed rooms (two with two single beds and two with one double and one single bed), an individual bathroom for each room, electric heating and lighting, as well as a slow combustion wood stove,
Electric stove, refrigerator, and several kitchen items and commodities with private bathrooms, a living room and a large terrace overlooking the lake, BBQ and outdoor fire place.
The main house has 4 standard rooms (en-suite) and 3 luxury rooms (en-suite) with balcony overlooking the lake, satellite TV and large corner bath.

The closest town, St-Alexis-des-Monts is 15 km away. The population is ± 2800 people. There are 2 pubs, 3 restaurants, 2 banks, 1 supermarket and 3 petrol stations, 1 pharmacy, 1 general store, 1 taxi.

Many things: its location amidst dense forests and lakes, it’s the closest you can get to Canada’s wilderness without giving up too much comfort; the friendly staff that will make sure your stay is a memorable one; the activities offered on site;
The fact that you get to choose if you want to cook your own meals, bbq or enjoy your meals at the restaurant in the main house (and the food, even though “basic” is quite fabulous); the chalets by the lake; the trout’s that are eager to get caught;

There is a restaurant on-site. The speciality of the house are: their home smoked trout, steak or filet mignon from Wapiti,
Pork glazed with maple syrup and the local trout from the grill.

Is there a local speciality of drink or food that we should know about and enjoy?
Popular among the locals is a drink called Caribou. It’s made from red wine mixed with port wine or vermouth and
40% pure alcohol (there are as many recipes as there are families…each one has it’s own). Maple Syrup is produced in the area, so make sure to sample some.
