Finish Christmas In Lapland Experience

Where better to spend Christmas than in Finnish Lapland, home of Santa Claus? Our base is Pyhä, located 100km north of the Arctic Circle and reached easily by bus from Rovaniemi airport. There are numerous optional outdoor activity possibilities, plus the opportunity to take part in a traditional Finnish Christmas, including of course a visit from Santa himself.

22nd Dec - Arrival to Lapland
Arrival by air to Rovaniemi airport. Transfer by bus directly to the hotel at Pyhä. (Note: The transfer journey takes around 1½ hours, and the bus meets each regular scheduled Finnair flight into Rovaniemi).

Our hotel is located in the enchanting Pyhä-Luosto National Park, directly on the slopes of Pyhä mountain. Pyhä offers a range of outdoor activities including downhill skiing. Overnight in first class hotel in Pyhä - half board basis

23rd Dec - Visiting Santa
Buffet breakfast at the hotel then it's off for a true fantasy experience, ideal for families. A twilight visit to Santa in his secret place in the forest. Travel by sleigh behind a snowmobile in search of Santa Claus. Follow the candlelit path to his secret cottage tucked away in the trees. Whilst waiting for your turn to visit Santa, enjoy a plate of traditional Finnish Christmas porridge and a hot drink in a kota (traditional Lappish tepee) around an open fire. Each family will have private time with Santa and each child will get a gift from him.. Overnight in first class hotel in Pyhä - half board basis

24th Dec - Christmas Eve
24th December is Christmas Day to Finns. Take part in traditional Finnish Christmas activities including a Christmas visit to Church and the traditional Declaration of Christmas Peace. In the evening Santa Claus himself visits the hotel, followed by a traditional Christmas buffet dinner. Overnight in first class hotel in Pyhä - half board basis

25th Dec - Christmas Day
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Free day to spend with the family, enjoy one of the range of optional activities, or go downhill skiing.

26th Dec - Boxing Day
Buffet breakfast at the hotel then off to visit the Pyhä-Luosto Husky and Reindeer Park. After an informative talk on the huskies, experience the power of the dogs at work with a five hundred metre husky sleigh ride. Then on to the reindeer farm area for a presentation on reindeer husbandry followed by a fifteen minute reindeer sleigh ride. After a hot drink, return to Pyhä. Includes services of guide, private transfer, presentations on huskies and reindeers, husky and reindeer sleigh rides and hot drink.

27th Dec - Departure
Return by bus from the hotel to Rovaniemi airport. Depending on your flight timings you can also make a visit to Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi before your flight back home.
