The surf in Panama is all year round, with the most consistent surf conditions found occurring on the Pacific coastline between February to October but you could get great surf in the other month of November, December and January. What makes a trip to Panama with Pure Vacations special is when the offshore wind blows during the dry season between December and April., this means clean off shore conditions on the Pacific side.

This Xoxxi Surf Camp has been recognized for some of the best waves in Central America. The surf camp is located on a small island off the Pacific coast of Panama. The surfing takes place on two islands. One being the big island and the other the small island. The larger island has the living accommodation as well as several great breaks. The smaller island is where some of the bigger surf is caught. Private cabanas are located on the side of the hill over looking the Pacific Ocean. Water is supplied fresh from a water spring and that is used for drinking and showering. There is a large sandy beach break in one bay and two excellent point breaks are also located on the accommodation island.

Surfing isn't the only great thing about this surf camp. You can go diving, fishing, exploring or just relax in a hammock. The island has a variety of wild life including monkeys, deer, parrots and many other types of birds. The surf camp is a wonderful place for almost anyone to go to. There is a wide variety of breaks from beginner to a professional level. The surroundings are gorgeous so even if you don't surf, this is great place to be!

The surf camp has been using solar panels since 2000 but it was necessary to occasionally supplement the power with a gas powered generator on cloudy or rainy days. The solar/wind generator systems perfectly compliment each other because quite often when the sun isn’t shining, the wind is blowing in the late afternoons, evening and night hours. So this just shows you what type of arrangement you will experience - it's really remote and real hardcore!
