Panama has warm, friendly people, a stable democracy, a dynamic business sector and an unusual variety of terrains. With its huge expanses of tropical rainforest, the Isthmus of Panama is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. Its unique ecology stems in part from its connection to two continents. If Birds are a primary indicator of biodiversity then Panama would take the winners trophy.

Panama has a wide range of tropical landscapes including pristine surf beaches, rain forests, cloud forests, over 900 species of birds, 1500 species of trees and over 7000 vascular plants. Without a doubt, Panama is a real tropical paradise for the surfer and nature lovers and is perfect for the surf explorer. Panama has few rivals in the quantity and quality of its surf with Fifteen hundred islands on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

The surf in Panama is all year round, with the most consistent surf conditions found occurring on the Pacific coastline between February to October but you could get great surf in the other month of November, December and January. What makes a trip to Panama with Pure Vacations special is when the offshore wind blows during the dry season between December and April., this means clean off shore conditions on the Pacific side.

Pure Vacations Surf Travel does NOT currently offer any surf packages to this region but our sister company Tripbnb does offer accommodation on its site if you wish to book them - review these below plus more on Tripbnb.

Morro Negrito Surf Camp - Chiriqui - Rooms from $107 per night

Open since 1998 and located on a small private island off the coast of Panama (Central America), it is a paradise worth discovering! The Morro Negrito Surf Camp is actually two islands. One being the big island and then a smaller outer island. The big island has the living accommodations. Private cabanas are located on the side of a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, each with your very own hammock for that afternoon siesta. Water is supplied by a fresh water spring that is used for drinking and showering. There are left breaks, and right breaks. Beginner breaks, experienced breaks, and advanced surfer breaks.

Private, uncrowded, tropical, waves! No crowded lineup here and we restrict the numbers of surfers on the island to 15. There are ten different breaks to choose from, so no break gets overcrowded. You will be served three meals per day with a variety of dishes made from fish, chicken, shrimp, tropical fruits, etc. We can accommodate vegetarian diets.
