Surfing holidays to Bahamas. For the past decade we have known of a surfing spot so lovely that when you catch a wave you can’t see the bottom of the wave because the water is so crystal clear. Finally we have decided to give you all a chance to visit and surf in a little hidden surf gem – The Bahamas.

Bahamas Surfing Holidays Bahamas Surfing Vacations Bahamas Surfing Travel Surfing holidays in the Bahamas are located on the surfing island of Eleuthera which is considered to be one of the prettiest islands in the Bahamas, with its rolling green hills, sheltered coves, breathtaking bluffs and cliffs, inland lagoons and caves, and magnificent pink sand beaches that stretch for miles. The island is over 110 miles long but little more than a mile wide in most places - in certain spots on the island you can see the deep blue Atlantic Ocean and the calmer, aquamarine Bight of Eleuthera at the same time.

Quaint colonial villages are a reminder of the island's pilgrim settlers who arrived over 350 years ago and named the island Eleuthera, 'Freedom' in Greek. That same carefree spirit is alive and well in Eleuthera today, and it's incredibly easy to find and enjoy stunning surf beaches and scenery all by yourself. The island's rich red soil produces a variety of vegetables and exotic fruits such as pineapples, mangoes, papayas and avocados, and Eleuthera's green rolling hills are reminiscent of somewhere more northern than the tropics.

During the winter months (November-March) the weather is very comfortable, and can often be picture perfect for a surfing holiday. Temperatures are typically in the low to mid 70s during the day, and it can get cool at night, usually in the low to mid 60s. Sunny, dry days with little humidity are the norm. Bahamas Surfing Holidays Bahamas Surfing Vacations Bahamas Surfing Travel Occasionally a cold front will push southward through the islands, bringing a wind shift and perhaps a shower or two, but any weather associated with these fronts rarely lasts more than a day or two at the most. The water temperature at this time of year is typically also in the low 70s.

During the summer months (April-October) the humidity rises as does the frequency of showers, but temperatures usually only get up to about the mid to upper 80s, falling to the low 70s at night. Due to its proximity to the ocean, the island of Eleuthera is blessed year round with cooling sea breezes, typically from the east, which keep the heat and humidity down. The water temperature in the summer heats up too, to around the mid 80s. During the height of summer, the ocean will sometimes be as calm as a lake, and quite spectacular – but then the swell arrives and its beautiful.

Bahamas Surfing Holidays Bahamas Surfing Vacations Bahamas Surfing Travel Whatever you desire, Surfing in Bahamas and Eleuthera has it all - spectacular beaches, great surf, tranquil coves, lush green forests, quaint historical settlements, and a relaxed, carefree atmosphere. You can do it all or do absolutely nothing. Enjoy your freedom! Now select your package…! And enjoy clean, uncrowded waves, pristine beaches, and unspoiled conditions at one of Eleuthera's most beautiful beaches.

The island of Eleuthera offers some of the most consistent and powerful surf in the Bahamas and Caribbean in general. Point breaks, reef breaks and beach breaks, Eleuthera has it all. The island is surrounded by deep Atlantic Ocean on its North and East sides, and that is where the best breaks are located.

North coast breaks work on anything from N through NE, East coast breaks on anything from N to SE, predominantly lefts but there are some rights. A 3000-foot drop in the ocean floor, one mile offshore, acts as a swell magnet that can channel in swells from as far away as Africa and the Azores.

The best season for surfing is October through April for size and consistency. When strong cold fronts go off the east coast of the US, winds typically switch offshore and the surf gets GOOD! From May through July, it's typically small but real fun, and then the months of August, September and October bring the possibility of hurricane surf in warm, clear water – this can be really exciting.

Prime surf seasons often coincide with beach-seeking tourists crowding into prime surfing spots. If you travel often to catch the best waves, buy a timeshare and you're accommodations will be secured ahead of time. You can return to the Bahamas each year or explore other surfing meccas. But you should know, there's no match for surfing in Eleuthera.
