Surfing Mentawai

Pure Vacations are pleased to announce that as of May the company will once again been featuring the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia. This is the first time the company has been back to the region since the 26th December Tidal Wave that wiped out 7 of the 9 resorts Pure Vacations used to feature.

The Mentawai Islands are amongst the most beautiful in the world with white beaches, dazzling coral and picture perfect palm trees. These unique tropical islands are situated approximately 150km west of Sumatra in the Indian Ocean. They sit on the edge of a continental shelf where deep water surges up onto the beautiful coral reefs that surround and protect them. There are four main islands making up the chain including Siberut, Sipura and North & South Pagai. These four main islands are surrounded by many smaller ones.

It is true that the Mentawai islands deliver ideal swell as consistent as you dare dream but due to its apparent remote location the islands have only really been touched by surfers within the last 10 years.

Surfing El Salvador

Pure Vacations launches for the 2nd time in its history the country of El Salvador.

Surfing in El Salvador is both a cultural experience and a greatly enjoyable pleasure. The surf season is almost year round with the best months being March to October. During the months of November and December the surf will average is 3 to 6 feet and be very clean, January and February the waves are very small but clean, very good for learning, and in our experience if there's a 3 foot swell or more the surf will be truly great. This is a destination for all to enjoy but it is also the best type of surfing experience that you could hope for, a real surf travel experience never to be forgotten for the right reasons.

The great thing about our resorts in El Salvador is there s hardly ever any crowding, this is something you will rarely have to deal with, with the exception of 3 or 4 friendly locals you will probably have the surf just to yourself. You will find great swell along the whole coats that offers great waves with long rides and barrel sections.

Idaho Horse Drive - Medicine Lodge

Pure Vacations launches its first series of Horse Drives for its ranching product.

If you have ever rounded up and driven horses in miles of open country, you know its not just a ride in the park. Driving horses 20 miles a day through all kinds of terrain is an adventure. Its the most exciting thing you have ever done on horseback. It can be hot and it can be cold, it can be wet or dry or dusty, it can be fast and then slow, it can be challenging yet relaxing. Its a horse drive and anything can happen because its the real thing. If your looking for a fast paced great cowboy adventure, a Medicine Lodge Horse Drive is just the thing for you. Your accommodations are simple yet very nice. There is no electricity at the ranch. All rooms and cabins have propane lighting. The hot outdoor shower is a favorite for all guests.

The Seminyak Bali Surfari Camp

Another Surf Camp launched in indonesia on the island of Bali.

At the centre of our Seminyak Surfari is really discovering the island, with its many surfspots and numerous other attractions. Mobility is a big thing so that both beginners and experienced surfers certainly get their moneys worth with the guided tours that are arranged up to six times a day. Accompanied by our guides by car and boat, you‘ll be able to discover the perfect waves all around this more than divine island. The camp is about 3 km north of the seething tourist stronghold, Kuta at the quieter spot of Seminyak. A distance that means you can choose between a relaxing evening at the camp or a hot night clubbing in Kuta.

The six wonderful kilometres of Kuta Beach is only a few minutes walk from the camp and this offers you the legendary beachbreaks, such as Half-Way, Padma or KuDeTa. These breaks are ideal for beginners and are a great counter piece to the daily tours. However, if you prefer to be out and about on your own, youre free to use our jeeps and mountain bikes.

The Balangan Surfari Camp

Pure Vacations have launched The Balangan Surfari Camp in Bali.

Just drop into the eat sleep surf rhythm with one of the worlds best surf regions on your own doorstep; far from the madding crowds and shopping malls, we have only one thing in mind; surfing, and nothing else. The camp hotel is situated directly on the cliffs of Balangan Beach, on the Balinese peninsula of Bukit. One of Balis longest left handers breaks over reef at the foot of the cliffs on to the most wonderful white sandy beach with palm groves. Since the spot can be run at any tide surfings possibe several times a day.

Just a few minutes walk will take you to Dreamland, Bingin or Impossibles. Other world-famous spots such as Uluwatu or Padang Padang are only a short drive away. The camp only takes up to 10 participants so its easy for intermediate and advanced surfers to fall into the eatsleep surf rhythm and forget everything- apart from surfing on our twice daily Guided Tours round Bukit and Bali. However, if you prefer to be out and about on your own, youre free to use our jeeps, just check with us.

Algarve National Park Surf Camp

The Algarve National Park Surf Camp is operated from Bordeira, a small village in the South West Algarve. From here theres quick access to the many beaches in the Algarve and the Southern part of the Alentejo.

Our surf camp is located in a pristine valley where you find an oasis of beautiful plants, birds, boar, owls and other wild life. This means that youll be far away from all the bars, clubs and shops. The surf camp has a special vibe, a place where you can relax, feel good, chilling in a hammock, thinking back about the waves you have surfed during the day. Evenings are spent chilling under the moon and the thousands of stars, sitting around the bbq enjoying good food, good company and good music.

Every morning starts with a great breakfast with fresh coffee (no instant), fresh rolls, fruit, cereal, etc. Then its off to the beach. Surf classes will be given to those who need surf lessons and for those who dont its straight to the great breaks. The surf breaks youll visit are suitable for all levels. Surf classes are always kept close to the beach in maximum waist-deep water, just to make sure that you are safe and that you feel safe. Experienced surfers paddle out to the line up and surf reefs, point breaks or the many beach breaks.

During a 7 Night stay at the camp you will recieve Regular Surf instructions from certified experienced staff, Accommodation in two person comfortable cabins, Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily starting with dinner on day of arrival untill breakfast of the last day, A wide variety of surfboards (including: 10 ft Nose Riders, 9 ft Classic Long boards, 7 ft 9 Malibus, 7 ft3 MiniMalibus, and 6ft 7 Short boards), we surf on real surfboards so no mucking around on rubber decks or foamies, ONeill wetsuits in all sizes for ladies and men, All soft drinks, Daily transport to the beach - drop of in Lagos, Certified Shiatsu and Thai Massseuse on hand to treat sore surfed-out muscles.

Please Note: The camp is built around a 7 night itinerary and arrival/departure is preferred on a Saturday to in keep with the camp spirit, however you can stay longer than 7 nights (but not less) and arrive/depart on different days if required.
