A trip to the Solomons is an adventure to one of the last frontiers of surfing and the modern world in the hands of knowledgable and very experienced guides. Rural Solomon Islanders are subsistence farmers and fishermen - growing their own organic food, fishing and selling what they have extra as surplus in local markets. In the villages there is no electricity, rarely even a road, no telephones, no shopping centres, very little use of fuel and little presence of any kind of government. Yet communities are well organised, provide their own services, maintain beautiful villages and have a very rich, diverse and hospitable culture.

Most houses are made in the traditional way from materials such as round poles and sago palm thatch. They are beautiful, cool and comfortable. Villages range from secluded hamlets to man made ancient artificial islands inside the lagoon.

Tropical rainforests, rugged mountains, freshwater rivers, mangroves, and coral reefs make Solomon Islands one of the top ten most biologically diverse countries in the world. Solomons is part of the 'coral triangle' with the highest marine biodiversity on the planet and what many are now calling the 'amazon of the sea'. This environmental diversity is combined with incredible cultural diversity. On one island alone there are often 6-8 languages and distinct cultures are often only walking distance form each other.

The best season for waves is November to April.  Swell is usually 4 to 6 feet but can be bigger. At the destination area the best swell comes from long period north Pacific lows. Unlike some other surf options in the Solomons we offer an area with a very wide swell window open to the full range of NE to NW and E to SE swells. Its a rare day that we cannot find a wave to surf.

Surfing breaks never surfed
There are dozens of lefts and rights in the areas of our expeditions that have great potential but have never been surfed, this is an unexplored region for surfing. A unique opportunity is there to be the first person to ever surfing a reef break!
